NIKKEI-JIN ( JAPANESE DESCENDANTS )

     Visa application under this category can be made with or without a Certificate of Eligibility issued in Japan. But acquiring the certificate of eligibility in Japan prior to the application of visa in the Embassy or consulate of Japan abroad will lessen the amount of time and volume of documents that is normally required when applying without the certificate.

Children of Japanese Nationals born on or before the end of World War II (referred to
as the 2nd Generation), the 2nd Generation's descendants and their spouses are
eligible to apply for this type of visa.
