    Documents from Japan (example: family registry of Japanese spouse, income tax certificate, civil registrations, etc.) that a foreign national wants to use in their own country or abroad must be submitted to the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Certification Section for direct stamping of the seal and signature of the authorized official (applicable for those documents issued by the Japanese government) and afterwards acquire the authentication of their respective embassies to prove its validity (some documents do not need the authentication of the embassy). General documents not issued by the Japan government like affidavit, power of attorney, translation of the Japanese government issued documents, etc., need to be notarized by a Japanese notary public before submission to the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs for authentication.
